Who is SAM?

Its quite easy to think SAM is an employee's name or possibly the inventor of our system, but SAM is an acronym.  S.A.M. = Spotting Assistance Machine.  We did this way back in 2009 when we got our first prototypes designed and out in the field for evaluation.  We found athletes and coaches calling the system, a rig, a thing, a flip machine, a flippy thing, and countless other names.  For years the traditional ceiling mounted systems that have ropes and a required coach to pull those ropes were commonly called a spotting rig.  Our system was different in so many ways and we needed a unique name.  The most common user is a young athlete and they needed to have fun when training on our system.  So the name SAM was born.   Its an acronym, it differentiates from the pack, and most important its just fun to hear kids say, " I'm going to go throw 20 tucks with SAM".
